ABOUT OUR CENTRE ...............

The site provides accommodation and camping for cubs, guides, scouts, explorer scouts, youth groups and school groups.
It is located in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales amongst the historical sights of Matlock, Tansley, Crich and Cromford. You can camp; hike, do bike rides, climb, cave, canoe, sail, study the varied wild life, play games and most of all have fun.

The centres main area is a half-acre site, consisting of two timber buildings for indoor accommodation and grassland for tents or games and an altar fires cooking area.
There is also a camp fire circle in two acres of woodland bounded by a stream. A great place for wide games and backwoods activities.

The Indoor Accommodation.

The main hall is 10mtrs x 5mtrs and has 6 folding tables, 12 benches, 20 chairs, a black board and a first aid cabinet.
The kitchen is equipped with electric cookers, microwave, fridge, freezer and water boiler.
The Leaders room has 6 beds
The Bunk House has 16 beds which can be subdivided by a door to spit the room into 12/4 beds.

A separate toilet and shower block provides for male, female and disabled person’s needs.

All indoor areas have fire extinguishers and mains operated smoke alarms.

There are opportunities to participate in adventurous outdoor activities, learn team-building skills and develop new friendships while using the natural resources of Derbyshire.
